Results for "Kids Pick the President" Delayed Due to High Volume of Mail-In Ballots
As the volunteers tally the votes at One Aston Place, Manhattan, one thing is clear with this year’s “Kids Pick the President” election: there won’t be a winner declared tonight.
With much of the polling moving to electronic methods this year, this year’s election has been neck-and-neck for the last few weeks, with record turnout among voters aged 17 and under. Polls have varied widely in reporting who the favored candidate is, and fraudulent votes by bot networks have only added to the confusion surrounding the 2020 KPP election.
As initial results for polls come in on Election Day, it’s become clearer that this will not the landslide election that many voters hoped–and may even come down to a single vote. Particularly vital will be the outcome of the millions of absentee ballots that were already submitted before in-person polling began.
The outcome of each state is expected to become clearer as the polls close in anticipation of voters’ 8:00 bedtime.
